Today I did walk number twelve which I actually really loved, the Latin Quarter. There were a lot of amazing places to eat, a pretty church and we got to see the Academie Française.
The walk started at the Fountaine St.Michel. It features an
Italian-inspired construction with St-Michel slaying a dragon.

We walked down the Rue la Huchette and found ourselves at a church which was built in the 11th century and restored in 1495. This church Saint-Séverin was very beautiful on the inside with its’ stain-glassed windows, and it was quite similar to many of the other churches that we have seen here. |

After a relaxing lunch at a café on one of the roads we
continued our walk on the rue de Seine. At the end of the rue de Seine was the
Académie Française, where the forty members of the French Academy establish the
rules which govern the French language. For example, not too long ago the
Académie Française got rid of this accent ˆ. I do not know how it’s possible to
get rid of an accent, but they did.
We then strolled along the Seine and that was the end of our
walk. Overall it was a nice, relaxing walk with many different pretty views and
places to eat.
